SONNY HORSES 4 HEROES is excited for our Ventura County community to nominate outstanding individuals, who represents the best in all of us. Sonny Horses 4 Heroes program, mission is to recognizing and celebrating the bravery, dedication, and sacrifice of law enforcement officers and first responders. Through this program, which is part of the Sonny Horses 4 Kids initiative, we show gratitude to those who serve our communities selflessly while also fostering stronger connections between our children and the dedicated first responders of Ventura County. We invite you to help us in the selection process by nominating outstanding officers and first responders who exemplify the highest standards of service. Sonny Boy and the Sonny Horses 4 Kids team along with the senior department leaders will select one each month from the nominations to receive this distinguished honor a plaque of recognition along with the dinner at a restaurant of the recipients choice.

Congratulations to Officer Fernando Espinosa as the Sonny Horses 4 Hereos Award recipient in the category of Commitment to Community. Officer Espinosa has shown outstanding dedication and adaptability throughout his nine-year career with the Oxnard Police Department. He is the Southwinds Neighborhood Officer and has remained committed to community policing even when temporarily reassigned to patrol in 2024. Officer Espinosa has assisted with events, neighborhood meetings, and problem-solving efforts, ensuring continued community support. His proactive efforts have been crucial in promoting community safety, building bridges, and easing tensions. He has also played a key role in solving vehicle thefts and gang-related crimes through diligent investigations.
